Thanks.

It's been going slow, not because the text is difficult to translate, but because trying to get the layout right is a pain...
Anyhow, the basic technique is to add irridescent or opalescent powders to your paint.
Irridescent powders will add a metallic look to the paint, with no change in color with the angle of viewing. Also known as
"Pearlescent".
Opalescent powders also give the metallic look, but they make the paint change colors depending on the angle you view at, kind of
like the way gasoline/oil on water looks like.. Also known as "Interference".
The Pearl-Ex pigments (powders) seem to be a good source for this type of stuff:
http://www.jacquardproducts.com/productpages/pearlex.htm
They can be found at most major craft stores near you, if you're in the US.
Basically, you add some of this powder to your paint mix, using either gloss/semi-gloss, clear colors (clear red, clear blue, etc),
or just pure clear paint. You should be able to add these powders to just about any type of paint.
I would probably recommend using an airbrush to apply the mix, with a good amount of thinning, or possibly a larger size nozzle.
I'm not sure how fine these pigments are, and they MIGHT clog up smaller nozzles (< 0.3mm ?).
There are a few Japanese companies that make similar pearl powders, but at this time I have no idea if they're irridescent or
opalescent, and whether or not they're a finer grain than the Pearl-Ex powders. Wave is one of them.
I intend to order a pack or two to see, sometime...

I can whip out the layout pretty quickly if you would like. Just
email me privately and we can work out the details, but since I still
have the scans locally, it shouldn't take me more than an afternoon.

And from there, just delete the white boxes and type in HTML text.
Unfortunately the program makes a mess out of it with HTML tables, not quite working well.
Images sized in the 1000's of pixels should do..

I could number each text block, then you send me the translation for
each numbered block. Then I could lay the whole thing out exactly as
it appears in the magazine, in Flash or as a PDF, with the English
text. That way the file size would be smaller than just a pure image,
but we would have better layout control than just using HTML.
