My best friend's daughter whom I babysit from time to time is just starting to get into anime. She's 12 and absolutely obsessed with Hetalia much to the chagrin of her mother who, after looking at the Parent's Guide on IMDB summarily decided that the show was inappropriate for her daughter. I can't find any kind of content guide for Rideback, haven't seen it myself and just bought it because it seemed interesting...

Anyway long story short...12 year old girl, mother with issues with the show she currently watches (or has watched), is there anything in Rideback that should make me think twice about watching it with this kid?

I would say no. I haven't watched all of it: I think I missed the last three episodes, but I don't recall anything to worry about. Of course, I'm not a mother with issues.

I did watch the whole thing some time ago, and I don't recall anything
particularly objectionable in it. That said, a lot of anime shows
contain a scene or two that might upset nervous parents, and picking one
that is entirely inoffensive requires considerable care.

The only issue I can see in Hetalia is that it's gay.

I suggest Princess Tutu.

Thanks for the quick responses...

Her problems centered on nudity (whether it showed everything or not) and the fact that a girl gets raped (apparently a guy starts and then changes his mind)...mind you this is all from the IMDB parent guide which tends to be on the "you can't be serious" side of conservative
I'm sure she'd have issues with "suggestive" material as well

Oh, dear...

I've been told that Japanese cartoons aren't self-censored to the extent
that American cartoons are - if Japanese parents have a problem with
their children seeing something objectionable, it's the parents' job to
make sure the children don't see it. So there's somewhat more
"objectionable" content in anime than there is in other cartoons.

But you can always ask here if you have any concerns...

So is at least one basketball player. Who cares any more?

I also suggest Princess Tutu. It's a good show.
