I started out writing this as part of a reply to Herbie Garcia's thread
about Cartoon Network's changes and got a bit off topic from what is
happening. But I still think it's interesting.

ANN quoted Jason DeMarco, CN VP saying

'that he personally "love[s] One Piece and would love to see it on CN
again" along with Gundam Wing. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fairy
Tail, and Inuyasha: The Final Act are some of the "many shows we've been
looking at" or discussed.'

So that's a sort of wish list for him.

My take on these:

One Piece - I think there are license issues with CN getting it.
Anyway, where would they start in it? I'm like a hundred ( 150? ) eps
behind and wasn't crazy about the setting or plots when I quit.
Characters were neat, tho'. I know there are people here staying
current and loving it. If CN could give it a 'proper treatment', but
started from the beginning, do you think it could catch on? Maybe
different arcs could run at different times of day. CN could get more
bang for their money that way. Or something.

Gundam Wing - would have made some people happy, just not me. But I'm
an exception, I never was a big Gundam fan.

Some of the many.

P & S - The big hoo-haw in the room. Compared to even CN's strongest
late-night stuff, it's still pretty extreme. Probably way too strong
for me except for the "I gotta see it to see just how extreme it is"
factor, which is why I've never gone to the trouble. If it was on TV,
I'd have to see what the fuss was all about.

Fairy Tail - rep is better than average swords and sorcery. I'd watch
it if it was on TV.

Inuyasha - hey, I watched 160 ( or whatever ) eps, I might as well
finish it. I hear it builds character. :) I will try to see this
somehow, someday - or least the last 3 eps. :)

Just my two bits on a CN person's most desired, or whatever.

They would have to run it daily to be able to keep it within a 2 year run...

Gundam defines anime for many fans, so it would likely be successful.

Humour and sex have rarely been merged so well. But if you don't like
either, this isn't for you.

No, it's just average.

There are better things in life to do than build character by watching
overly long endings...

I wouldn't mind Inuyasha Kanketsuhen (or Final Act) on Toonami.
I watched it awhile back and, compared to the original series,
despite having to condense 20 volumes of manga into 26 episodes
it turned out okay.

And it is that rare Takahashi beast that actually had an
ending that seemed final.
