[OT] aioe gone bye-bye?

when I've tried to go to its web page it isn't showing up. Does anyone
know what might have happened?
If aioe is gone for good, does anyone have any other suggestions for
another news service (preferably no cost)?

Usually when it goes down like this it lasts a few days and then gets
up running again, most people are complacent about the arrangement.
It's a free service run by one person.

aioe is run very cheaply so chances are that it may have lost either its
bandwidth or its server. Checking via the web, it looks like somebody
might have grabbed its address since all I get is cybersquat pseudo-search
crap.
I still occasionally go to greatnowhere for news if the server I normally
use starts playing up, though getting away from Pipex has made this less
of a problem. It requires registration but is free once you have done

Perhaps they finally got tired of the bunch of trolls and fakers using
their services :) My name (and mailadress) were used by a very bored person
which flooded several newsgroups with 'helfull' downloadtips. For porn.

Thanks for that! I've been following posts via google.groups since aioe
died but I won't post through there since you can't obfuscate your
e-mail address.
A real PITA when these parasites grab someone's domain name as soon as
the registration expires, or they may have stolen it out right. Some
registrars don't have enough checks built in to prevent that sort of
thing.
