1: Are Light and Misa sleeping together? It's quite obvious she'd do
anything for him, and it's also quite obvious from her prancing around in
lingere that she means A N Y T H I N G.
On the one hand, Light would be a bastard to take advantage of her in that
way. Then again, he's already a bastard for using her in other ways...
2: If, as discussed in another thread, humans who use the deathnote end up
becoming shinigami when they themselves die, does this mean that Misa will
be with Light forever? (<misa>and ever and ever and ever! tee hee!</misa>)
If that's the case, then poor Light's in for a fate worse than death...or
hell.

It's not broken. It's...advanced.

Think unrequited-crush loose-cannon volunteer Harley Quinn from the
Batman series:
"Ya want me to kill off this Interpol guy for ya, Mistah K?"

Take advantage of her in that way?
That's like saying the female teachers
are taking advantage of their students. ^_-
She'd like him to do that.
They'd been together, what, 4-5 years.
If she isn't getting any for that long,
she'd be one very unhappy unperky red-eyed monster.
Light wouldn't want that; gotta keep her on her leash. ^_^

Before L dies, I doubt it.
Afterwards, I see them doing a lot of S&M, but somehow I imagine that
Light is a big enough bastard to give Misa just enough attention to
hang around, but never actually put out. (Or when they DO do it he's
effectively just using her as a hole in the wall and she's too happy
to not care.)
-"Dot"
Either Rem or Ryuuk mention that the shinigamis' organs degraded over time
(which is why they don't need to eat). So, maybe they'll start out looking
human. Hell, woudln't be so bad for the first hundred years. After that,
I'd be out looking for a human life to save.
Ooooh, double standard! Though it's a very true double standard. Of
course, there were no teachers who looked like that back when I was that
age...

I'm sure there are plenty of doujinshi artists willing to extrapolate on
that.

I'm sure there's at least one doujinshi artist who's willing to extrapolate
on that, too.
Boy, "Death Note" jumped the shark once Misa appeared. :-P

Yeah, I'm sure all the other cops stand around saying things like "did you
see that Misa chick today?"
"Yeah. Niiiice."

He certainly was...interesting.
Be that as it may, my thinking was more along these lines:
Light doesn't love Misa, and I doubt he even likes her very much. She's
definitely not his equal in the brains category.
I'm sure that at first, she'd try to continue their relationship when
they're Shinigami, but since Light won't have any further use for her,
he'll probably try to get rid of her. She'll ignore his attempts for
awhile, at lesat until Light does something to annoy her...and I mean
*REALLY* annoy her. After that...well, you know the saying about scorned
women, hell and fury... I think the other Shinigami will be in for QUITE
a show.
Even if Light doesn't do anything to piss her off, she's going to
eventually come to her senses and see how horribly he treated her while
they were alive.
Either way, I hope Shinigami are made of sturdy stuff, because Misa's
going to end up tearing Light limb from limb eventually.
LOL. I hadn't thought about that connection before...
Even so, Harley has her dark side and you really don't want to go there.
I'm sure Misa has a dark side too though I don't know whether Light
understands women well enough to realize he's not just playing with fire,
but a curvaceous blonde thermo-nuclear device...
But it's pretty clear she's NOT going to get any from her Mr. J, except
in wherever he thinks she can be useful to the Plan...
As with Light, a villain's first love tends to be his Master Plot, and
is usually pretty monogamous.

Misa doesn't seem to care that Light treats her like shit; in fact, she
basically expected him to. It appears to be her thing. What pisses her off
is not Light treating her like used kleenex, but if he treats any OTHER
woman like new kleenex.
Luckily, she's also sensible (!) enough to figure out that when Light shows
affection for a woman, it's only because he's using them anyway, and
therefore deals with it rather well.
She's kind of messed up.

(A messed up person! In Death Note, of all places! Where did my monocle go?)
Going off on a tangent here. :-)

It appears that after "Death Note", Misa was able to get another job, on
"Digimon Data Squad". :-D
