(I'll settle for a licenced release of "Android Announcer Maico 2010" if
I have to, but I'd rather have a real Maico.)

I read (and enjoyed) the manga version, but I didn't even realize there was
an anime version until I saw your post.
Thanks for the tip!

The anime is somewhat different from the manga (almost a "Hollywood
adaptation" type of translation), but it's still good. Besides, Sakura
Tange plays Maico - that's always a good sign.

It's off on the second odyssey to the monolith floating around Jupiter
aboard Discovery Two.

It's very much like "WKRP in Cincinnati", with quirky characters
and a lot of industry-related jokes. From what I've seen of the
manga (only one of the licensed volumes) it seems like more of a
sex comedy.
And I think I'd rather have the sexy boss lady, but my luck I'd get
the snarky young OL.
Cap.
(...and as for characters like RAAM posters, I'm probably most like
the writer, without the smoking habit...)

It's been a couple of years since I read the Maico 2010 manga, but I
remember it as being a very ecchi, not-quite-hentai comedy. (My bookshelves
overflowed a long time ago, and the Maico manga is buried in a box somewhere
in a big pile of boxes.)
From the posted comments where I found the anime version, the anime is
clearly different. Not sure how soon I'll get around to watching it: my
current project is working through the big stack of unwatched DVDs piled up
next to my reclining chair.

There's nothing wrong with she-who-looks-like-Nabiki-Tendo that a few
months of learning how to open up to other people again wouldn't cure...
although, given my druthers, I'druther have Maico as of the very end of
the series.

Well, I've come close once already, ruptured appendix and all, and
my only other problem seems to be higher than good blood sugar, so
I've started easing off my vices. Unfortunately, the ED comes to us
all sooner or later...

In his case, it's _when_ that's depressing. He got to that point, but
didn't get to enjoy it... <sigh>

Well, he did go out with a smile, and I intend to "leave 'em laughing"
if at all possible.
