Howdy folks!

Over on the Anime on DVD forums theres reports that ADV announced at
their SogenCon Panel today that they picked up the 24 Episode series
from TBS/Kyoto Animation.

That would be a neat title fer ADV to get.

Hopefully they'l have a press realease for the series soon.

Thoughts Anyone?

See ya!!

That's where he stated to have gone -- I saw it and was surprised Sea
Gnat and the "SEE! SEE!!! ADV IS _ALIVE_!!!!" crew haven't jumped
all over this like a fumbled football.

You won't see the first episode in any buyable form. By the time they
even could get this out, you won't recognize our economy.

So what's wrong with Clannad? I'll grant that Irish music isn't to
everyone's taste, and selling audio CDs is a strange direction for ADV
to be taking considering how badly their last try at it went, but ...
What? "Wrong Clannad?" Oh.

So what's wrong with Clannad? I'll grant that date-sim adaptations
aren't to everyone's taste, but there's no reason to complain about yet
another one being licenced... is there?

A friend of mine gave me a copy of their _Anam_ CD. It was some
pretty miserable but crunchy rock. Then I opened up Exact Audio Copy,
popped it in, asked it to look up the disc on freedb--and it turns out
it was a mispressing, which had Pearl Jam's _Ten_ instead.

It's almost like he begs us to yank it every day. Trolls do that,
y'know.

Point. Kooks beg us to yank it on a daily basis, like a drug addict
or an annoying little shit into S&M (or not).

After the "Kanon" fiasco I'm most definitely not going to buy anything
from ADV that isn't released in its entirety.

They brought it to themselves. Note that I'm talking specifically about
ADV here, who have a record of discontinuing series they started.

Considering that many of the so-called "fans" who've been clamoring
for _something_ from ADV were saying Clannad was up ADV's alley...

Mike (Same question is asked as before: With what money?? Where's
the half-million coming from just to license this? (And that's if
it's 13 episodes. God help them if it's more...))

Why bother? Unless you honestly believe ADV has a million dollars to
throw away at this point, you won't even see episode one.

Mike (Someone really has to call for an independent investigation of
their books. Someone is conning somebody over there.)

From that dead "company", that's a solid bet.

If they really do have a new partner, I want their address so I can
mail them ADV's recent track record. Get while the getting is good.

Yes and no. And you explained why singles are dead as a medium of
release except for the mega-franchises. I know that's what you
_meant_, so, yes. But Viz and Geneon have done the same thing as the
entire DVD industry has been killed off the last 12-15 months.

No, all of the above is serious, including my personal observation
about Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam didn't move me, Alice in Chains put me to
sleep both times I saw them live (including opening for Iggy Pop), and
Nirvana were good, but Mudhoney's _Superfuzzbigmuff Plus Early
Singles_ is the real grunge shit.

Which, at this point, would be a very safe bet on his part.

Mike (It would also be a safe bet for all companies, since scamming
companies out of what little relevant investment money they have left
would appear to be Greenfield's and the others' MO. And, for those on
a space where I've been reading: THAT'S why you would lie about
holding a license -- to purport a sustainable business model when you
have none.)

They weren't expensive in prairie Canada. In the last 5 years,
ADV consistently had the least expensive prices for titles I wanted
to buy. Geneon were the most expensive. Until recently,
The rest were not badly priced, usually a couple dollars up
from ADV titles. Where are you, and where were you buying from?

Howdy all!

The Providence (RI) Anime Conference is this weekend & ADV's David
Williams will have a panel there so we'll see if indeed they do have the
anime & who is the mystery partner ADV is involved with.

Sounds like ADV does NOT have Clannad.

Their excuse for a "panel" at the Providence Anime Conference
basically "neither confirm nor denied" everything, including
Clannad!!!

Look, memo to David Williams: If you want us to stop accusing you of
lying, stop lying to us. What company was so insane to lose their
shirts as to be your new backer? What money do you have to license
your own shirt at this point? You're DEAD!! You've been dead, now,
for about 1-5 years, depending on who you talk to.

But, please, stop this scam job before you, Ledford, and Greenfield
end up in prison.
