While we were on vacation, I gave my son Escaflowne to watch when he
ran out of things of his own.

He proceeded to watch the entire series in two marathon sessions.

The otakunization proceeds!

Replace son with stepsister, Escaflowne with Evangelion, and I have
a similar story . . .

Yeah, I'm sure Merle has that effect on boys. :-)

No, no, no...

Merle has that effect on boys. Narya and Eirya have that effect on
*men*.

Merle doesn't have that effect on anyone but furry fans. *Boys* are
interested in the Escaflowne, or want to be cool like Allen.

I would suggest reading this week's Answerman before you continue to
seek therapy for your problems.

My niece did a marathon session of Escaflowne as well. She
loves that series. Last time I did a marathon session of
anime would be Evangelion with my younger sister, way
back in 2000. We stopped at ep. 24, then the next night watched
25,26 and subbed versions of the two movies. Thank goodness
I was on vacation that week, or I would have had some
'splainin to do to my boss ^_^.

(Right now having sorta marathon of another type; building
a new computer...)
