...it was the worst day in her life. For Nena, it was Tuesday. (OK,
I don't know the actual day of the week, but the "just for s**ts and
giggles" quality was disturbing.) Can you guess which Raul Julia
movie I paraphrased from?

I'm not married so I don't know the etiquette here, but does a ring
have to go on the left hand? The right hand is a good substitute; or
just wait for a prosthetic (if available).

Now I have a general Gundam question. Isn't this series supposed to
be a prequel to all the others (for whichever alternate universe it
belongs to)? So, doesn't that mean that we already know that
Celestial Being will fail, the blocs will reverse engineer the tech,
and conflicts will continue in space? Or is it about the journey, and
not the destination?

This link gave me eight posts from Goggle Groups. The movie isn't the
main one in the topic, but it is mentioned in two posts. (Julia
played the antagonist, while the thread mentioned the actor that
played the protagonist.)

Well, Louise made a big deal out of strictly using the left hand,
which she can't (currently) satisfy. But she is, understandably,
quite stressed at the moment. Hopefully the dude won't dump her
despite she pushing him away.

I'm not sure what you're saying here. I don't really follow Gundam,
but I thought that half of the many series share a universe, and the
other half share another. This Gundam 00 series could be a prequel to
one of those AU; so we know that Celestial Being's mission is
"doomed," right? (Or does Gundam 00 start a third AU?)

Yes. ^_^

The old rule for a ring is:
* if it's on the right hand, he or she is available;
* if it's on the left hand with the crown toward the palm, he or
she is dating;
* if it's on the left hand with the crown out, he or she is married,
engaged, or recently widowed.

Almost nobody remembers that rule nowadays, though...

Stories are *always* about the journey, IMHO.

Really?

I always understood "ring on ring finger of right hand" to mean
"engaged", and "ring on ring finger of left hand" to mean "married", "no
ring on ring finger of either hand" to mean "neither of the above", and
"ring on any other finger of either hand" to have no significance
whatsoever. Doesn't mean you aren't right, but I don't remember ever
encountering the rule as you cite it...

Never heard anything about Gundam 00 being connected to any of the
other Gundam series.

I've been told that the rule as I gave it is how the Irish treat the
matter...

Gotta be a fourth or fifth, I don't know of anything connecting
Gundam SEED to Gundam Wing, for example, and G Gundam does not
fit in the tech at all (the space colonies are flat pieces of
land with gravity on their surface), and don't get me started on
Super Deformed!

Ok, I can only think of Kiss of the Spiderwoman and (strangely) The
Addams Family. Wanna clarify?

Cross-match with Jean-Claude Van Damme. (Julia played the main
antagonist while Van Damme played the main protagonist.)

Oh, come on... Julia's take on M. Bison was excellent! He "chewed the
scenery" in *just* the right way.

Looking through some old archives, I found *one* way of proposing
to a songle-handed lass:

<http://www.chron.com/apps/comics/showComick.mpl?date=20040729&name=Funky_Winkerbean>

<http://preview.tinyurl.com/cx6qjl>

I'd say this is upbeat for the depressing "comic" that Funky
Winkerbean tends to be, but a quick mention of how she lost her arm,
the repercussions of that event, and how things have turned out since
would quickly bring "harsh reality" back!
