I was wondering why? Funimation is a anime dubbing/subbing company (at
least all the other titles available on that site are subbed/dubbed
anime), with Degrassi being the only live action show available on that
site.

I know that Navarre (Funimation's parent company) has done non-anime
stuff (I found a cheap collection of silent films for a dollar at
Big Lots one time that was put out by Navarre; seriously, two of the
three movies didn't even have a music track), but Funimation itself?
Nah, never seen one.

That is my point, Navarre might well be a company that produces and/or
distributes non-animated stuff, in fact, for all I know it might
produce/distribute more non-animated than animnated stuff, but isn't
Funimation their division that is specifically for anime?

Only TNG?
Do you know if they also distribute Derassi Jr. High or Degrassi High.
I have tried to get those for some time.

Just because a company primarily licences one sort of property doesn't
mean it never licences other types. ADV licenced "Andromeda", after all,
and AnimEigo has licenced a few anime to go with their samurai movies...
Perhaps Funi had an open slot in their release schedule?

Or Degrassi: Deep Space Nine, Voyager?
Wait... Other show.

On another note: to think there was a time it would have been
"AnimEigo has licensed a few samurai movies to go with their anime" .

Yeah... <deep sigh>

Or maybe anime really is dying, and Funi is trying to secure other sources
of income? :)

A quick look on Wiki shows that Navarre once used the label BCI but
that folded. I wouldn't be surprised if the Canadian Degrassi shows
were once licensed by BCI and needed a home. Given Funimation targeted
the same audience as the show it would make sense to use that label
instead of creating a new division.
