Hmmm - Is this a glimpse of a "wave of the future"? Viz is web-casting
Naruto episodes with subtitles on the day that they are being broadcast, via
the

http://naruto.viz.com/

web site in the US and Joost in Canada:

http://www.joost.com/37am3ai/t/Naruto-Shippuden-SUBTITLED-UNCUT-VIZ-Media

The older episodes are available there too.

I'll have to let my wife's 9 year old nephew know about this because he is a
huge Naruto fan.

Here is a copy of the Viz news release regarding this:

http://www.mangamaniaccafe.com/?p=3198

Now, when will someone provide other current anime this way?

See towel.

See towel get thrown in.

See anime companies go bankrupt left and right.

See predictions come true as anime goes out of business.

Mike (And not necessarily _my_ predictions either...)

Oh, really, Dorky, you don't even know where your towel is.

See company. See company Getting Clue about the modern world. See
Company that will make money in this new economy.

See Dorkstar. See that he STILL has no clue. See that he clings
desperately to his beliefs of the death of all civilization. See that he
looks just as silly now as he did months ago.

From what I've heard, Hulu's ad model it getting considerable
revenues for the partnership of entertainment companies that started
it.

On another note: The Monty Python guys noticed a lot of
poor-quality clips from their shows and movies making their way to
YouTube. So, they did the only rational thing . . . and posted their
*own* *high*-quality clips on YouTube! The result was a spike in
sales of their DVD collections, as people wanted to see more! Funny
how things work out . . .

Just as watching Youtube Ranma eps has convinced me to buy the new box
sets, as my budget allows. Tho' I did rent the seasons that Netflix had
a couple of years ago ( 6 and 7 then, I think ), and that helped too.

For my two bits, there is a place for free ( or near free ) lower
quality less bandwith-stressing distributions.

OH COME ON...

See company be completely unable to finance future projects.

See said company go bankrupt.

I'm sure the heads of Gonzo would like to believe the tripe you're
posting. (What people there are left there, after the last year and a
half.)

This shit ain't cheap, Sea Wasp. If the "new economy" is going to
make enough money to even feasibly continue the anime industry at all,
these companies would literally have to get millions (US$) from the
revenue streams to even get their properties to the phase where
merchandising would take over.

Have you been reading half of what the likes of some of the major
players in Japan are saying about the international market, with this
"new wave of the future"??

The question now is as the question then: WITH WHAT MONEY???

(Unless you wish to propose that anime companies are also getting
bailouts -- which, given the Japanese, would not be completely out of
the question...)

See Sea Wasp. See Idiot (wait, that's the same person)...

I really want to know, now, whether you have a job with the likes of
AIG and Geithner and all those shit-heads. Your falsities would meet
their requirements very well, thank you.
