Megumi Hayashibara
Miss Hayashibara is a popular singer and talk radio
show hostess. However what she is best known for
is her voice acting talents. Miss Hayashibara has done
the voices of some of anime's better known titles:
Ranma-Chan (Ranma 1/2), Ai (Video Girl Ai), and
Nuku Nuku (Super Catgirl Nuku Nuku).
Miss Hayashibara will be singing in concert Saturday evening.
Monkey Punch
The creator of one of the longest running series ever,
Monkey Punch has been working in the manga industry
since the early 60s.His much loved Lupin III series of
manga has been adapted into four movies, several series,
OVAs and is still going strong. He is currently working
on a newspaper strip called "Peach-Gal", and an epic
animated version of "1001 Arabian Nights" He has been
a very entertaining guest when he has visited us before at
previous conventions and considering his busy schedule,
we are glad his publisher has allowed him to come
to Anime America this year.
Robert De Jesus
We are also happy to announce that American
artist Robert De Jesus, whose work has graced
the cover of "Ninja High School" comics among
other places, has just been confirmed as our guest.
Venus Terco
Anime America has also just confirmed Canadian voice
actress Venus Terco. She is the voice of Ranma-Chan
in the English dubbed version. This will be interesting to
say the least having both Megumi and Venus at the same
convention. The "Dub your own anime" workshop will have
some interesting possiblities......
Parties!
Anime America will have two floors of the hotel set aside
for your partying pleasure. but don't let that stop you from
having a good time!
Cel Painting Workshop
Dan Uyeno plans to hold two classes in the art of animation
cel painting. the first class will cover the basics, from
layout to final painting. The second will deal with advanced
techniques and skills. If you are interested in participating
please contact Dan and let let him know which classes you
would like to attend to help give him an idea of how many

Fan Programming
This year's Anime America is planning a fan
programming track. This room will be set aside
for fan activities only. Want to introduce your club?
Show off your fan subtitling efforts or parody tapes,
throw a party, hold a discussion or just hang out.
What happens in here is up to the fans. Reserve a
block of time for your group. We can also supply
you with video projectors, VCRs or any other
equipment you might need. Fan Clubs are also
encouraged to leave their club flyers in the fan
room so that people can find them in one central

Fan programming is also sponsoring an event
on Friday night called " Anime Fireside Chat"
This 2 -hour open forum is to give fans, newbies
and worldly veterans alike a chance to 'vent your spleen'
on issues in fandom or the industry. Bay Area College
Radio is being invited to record this event for posterity.
Media and anime industry representatives are also
invited to come. Only two rules for this event,
One: Keep your comments clean and polite.
Two: don't hog time on the mike.
