I thought I might try this year, so here is my team, the FRP trio:
1) Naga the white serpent, from Slayers. Of mysterious origins, she
is a mercenary sorceress, and sometimes companion and self-proclaimed
rival to Lina Inverse. She doesn't have quite the destructive power
or divine connections that Lina has, but has the usual set of spells -
light, flying, fire and ice attacks, and a subspecialty in golems.
She dresses like a stereotypical evil sorceress, but isn't actually
evil herself. Maybe a little conceited. Oh, and some find her laugh
annoying. Selected from the end of the fourth movie, just after the
break-up with Lina.
2) Fam, from Ruin Explorers. A beast-girl (Japanese-style elf ears
and tail), a bit of an airhead, a sorceress whose style involves
calling on spirits, and companion to Irie. She is reluctant to use
magic to directly attack anything, but is good for defense,
manipulation of inanimate objects, entanglement, illumination, and
weather prediction. When she doesn't screw up, that is. Selected
from the end of the four-episode OVA. (I'd choose Irie, but there's
too much risk of her being stuck as a mouse.)
3) Louie, from Rune Soldier Louie. Treat as a mixed-class fighter-
magic user. Trained as a magic user, but more interested in
fighting. As a result, mostly not as good in either capacity as a
speciallist. Notable for the magically enhanced "Louie Punch".
Reluctantly recruited as the magic user for a group of young women
adventurers, who among themselves cover the roles of fighter, thief,
and cleric. Selected from the end of the series.
