I had been so busy with the semester that I didn't have time for these
posts. Now I have time, though. Information taken from Brandon Gray's

As busy as I was, I sure didn't want to miss reporting THIS week's
results. :-)

As you've already heard, on 12/12-14 we saw "Delgo" make history. :-) The
really stinging part, "Delgo" was originally reported to have a $900K opening
weekend, which was still a record breaker for a flop. But the actuals turned
out to be only HALF that. Yikes. I assume that this weekend it will have a
record breaking dive in the boxoffice due to a mass disappearance from
theaters. Incidentally, it didn't do too well among critics either.

Over the past couple of weeks, I missed the ups and downs of "Bolt".
"Bolt" initially took a lot of flack for a lukewarm $30Million first weekend,
though now "Delgo"'s probably made everyone forget about that flop talk. :-)
Then "Bolt" showed some good hold during the Thanksgiving day weekend, due to
very good word of mouth.

But the boxoffice has been lackluster since. It looks like "Bolt" is just
going to crawl over the $100M mark. How much did this movie cost?

Also a couple of weeks back, "Space Chimps" left theaters with a
$30,105,968 domestic gross coupled with a $32,886,476, easily covering the
film's $37M production budget. It's out on DVD, if you care to watch it.
Curiously enough, other films on DVD, like "WALL-E" and "Fly Me to the Moon",
are still in theaters.

The stop motion animation "$9.99", debuted this weekend.

It opened in only one LA theater for Oscar consideration. It still had a
better boxoffice than "Delgo". :-) Not registering a boxoffice is "Dragon
Hunters", even though that had an Oscar consideration opening in LA as well.

Meanwhile in NY, "The Sky Crawlers" had its Oscar consideration release, but
only for one day.

I don't know what the plans are for future distribution for any of these
movies.
