Boxofficeguru.com has noted that "Up" has been Pixar's best performer
since "Finding Nemo", keeping up with that film's boxoffice. But "Up" does
have the more expensive 3D tickets to help out. I'm curious as to how well it
will hold up to "Ice Age 3".
The stop motion animation "$9.99" had a nominal release last year to
qualify for the BAF Oscar. But now it's getting a (very) limited release.
It's reopened in NY and LA, but with little fanfare. Still, it's per theater
average looks ok. You can find out more about this Israeli movie at its
website.:

And the handful of critics that have reviewed the movie have mostly liked it.

And "The Battle for Terra" still hangs on to one or two theaters. That
film's distributors are proving a lot more stubborn than the distributors of
"Delgo".

They could be second run or even third run (if they exist) theatres like
drive-ins who got the film late. And for a drive-in showing more than one
movie, it doesn't matter if one is bad; it's just there for the kids who
fall asleep after the first film.

With or without 3-D, IA3 has only one audience, and it's the same one
they've always had for the past eight years:
Squirrel stalkers. Scary, dangerous, obsessed squirrel stalkers, who
don't even notice the other 70 minutes of the movie. They frighten me.

(Although, granted, that ritual 5-minute 3D trailer shown at MvA and Up
*was* funny, but pretty much for the exact same Film Board of Canada
reason the Pixar "Partly Cloudy" short was funny--
Just one little five-minute divertissement that wasn't trying to blast
commercialism at us or try to sell us something....Unfortunately, in
Fox's case, when you're intending it as a trailer that *is* trying to
sell us a 90-minute movie in which none of that footage will actually
appear, you may theoretically run into problems.)

Another $123 for "Delgo In Space"!!!
They upped their theaters to 6! Pulling in more than $20 each!!!

I'm sure the movie will have a lot of Scratte' fanservice. :-)

"I thought it was a very *funny* trailer, because a squirrel did not get
his nut and fell off a cliff!" :)

But the squirrel did get his nut off. :-)
