The Mighty B! - Another SNL Connection . . .

Watching last Saturday's Best of Amy Pohler on SNL, I couldn't help
but notice similarities between Amy's Kaitlyn (sp?) character and
Bessie Higgenbottom on "The Mighty B!", who she voices.

As it turns out, both are based on a character Amy Pohler did
during her Improv days, and occassionally during SNL warmups. The
character was an overenergetic, ten year-old Girl Scout. With the
Honeybees an obvious take on the GS, it seems Bessie is closer to the
original character than Kaitlyn. Animation also gives Amy Pohler a
lot more freedom, allowing Bessie to do things that would be
difficult-to-impossible with the live-action Kaitlyn.

Nice to know a character's roots and background . . .
