...Hmmm. Won't that likely kill tropical fish if the breaker trips and isn't noticed soon? Especially if you are saying that they trip frequently. My Oscar broke his heater, which was encased in a big glass test tube, and, I believe, died of the cold. I'd had him for a couple years. I have a glass aquarium with a broken side panel 12" x18". I am considering replacing this side panel with an acrylic end piece. Has anyone done this? I assume that one can use silicone to stick the glass and acrylic together. Any recommended types? Also how much thicker are the panels of an acrylic aquarium compared... more »

Nitrate Problem

Hi, I hope someone can shed some light on this problem. I have high nitrate (80 ppm) and phosphate (1.0 ppm) but zero ammonia and nitrite, the ph is 7.8 and a salnity of around 30. After years of on and off problems I have finally got my tank sorted. I have had marine clowns , Tangs , with powder blues living for several years together even though the algae problem was present. Since their demise, I have put a larger skimmer in and a load of calurpa. 5 weeks later algae gone nitrate negligable, now my problem.... more »

TVO ilmoitti keväällä -07, että Suomeen aletaan jo syksystä rakentamaan kuten sanoivat YVA:ssa peräti kolmea ydinvoimalahanketta kerrallaan!
