If you can make Kool-Aid, you can make salt water.

Note: Do not put kool-aid in your tank.

Do a search on Excite.com, for aquaria AND faq, and dig in.....

You really can't do this on replies from a news group. You need to buy a
good book for beginners.

Start SLOWLY by reading a lot on the subject and be patient. You must build
up some basic knowledge about marine fishkeeping to realize, that once you
get the right kind of salt, mixing it will be least of your problems.

Good Luck

I am also in the planning stages of setting up a 100 - 150 gal reef aquarium.  I started reading the newsgroups about a month ago.  The best advice is to read.. read... read.....

I can definitley recommend "The Reef Aquarium" by Julian Sprung and J. Charles Delbeek.  I have both volumes 1 & 2 and they have really helped with my planning.  The best price I have found on these two books is 59.00 @ www.amazon.com .  I also purchased a book authored by Nick Dakin titled "The Book of the Marine Aquarium".  This book has alot of good sized pix of fish and inverts.

If I can be of any help just e-mail me.  If I don't know the answer to a question I will research it.  That way we both benefit.

Good Luck
