Driftwood giving out color

Hi

I bought a drift wood & soked it for about 4 days.....Now that I place it in
the tank...it still have a little color..will it harm the fishes? I try to
change water every week.

The color is probably Tannic acids leaching from the wood that will drive down
your pH so be sure to test your water regularly. Many Amazon fish like Neons,
Angelfish, and Cory's who like soft, acidic water will thrive on this, whereas
it it may not be so good for Livebearers and some Cichlids. Just do water
changes as appropriate.

I have a couple of pieces in my tank that are about 8 months old and still
turn the water dark. Now that I've gotten used to it, I actually kind of
like the tea colored water.

I have small fishes such as guppys, swordtails,neon tetras,catfish & 2 crabs
