It seems my cory cats are always digging. I've got a few bulbs (I
think apoptomagen or something) that are starting to sprout and they
keep digging them up and I find them all over the place. One of the
bulbs has got enough roots out now it stays in place but the others
have barely got leaves much less roots yet and the corys dig them up
eventually. I also had a few nice little hills and valleys in the
gravel but after a couple of days the corys have it pretty much
flattened out. As far as I can tell they're getting plenty to eat. The
tetras are getting fat and the corys don't look like they're starving
at all either. I know they're bottom feeders but do they always dig
like that? I never really paid attention to how much they dig until I
started putting some live plants in the tank.

I can't take credit for this but someone on this ng said they take med size
rocks and put them around their plants (we were discussing vacuuming
gravel). You might try that and see if that keeps them stationary so the
corys will have a harder time rearranging the furniture.

I'll try that. It's amazing how these little 1 1/2" to 2" fish can
move things around if they decide to though! I've got a free-standing
filter sponge (not sure what kind - a friend won it at a fish club
meeting) and even though the base of it is buried in the gravel
they'll push it a bit if they decide to go into that corner of the
tank in a hurry!
