How big is the tank? If 100 liters or smaller (25g or so), forgot anything
else and if much smaller, give the tigers away and get some better suitable
fish. If you have room, you could get for example other medium sized barbs
like goldens or rosies. You need at least 160 liters to have good schools
of more than 1 barb species.

Plecos are suitable companios too. Naturally you can't get a "common" pleco
unless your tank is at least 500 liters, but look at the smaller species.
Bristlenose or clown pleco can be kept even in a 100 liter tank. Some other
catfish types like doradids do ok with barbs too.

Other suitable tank mates include fast and hardy open water fish like
bigger zebra fish species or rasboras. Some medium sized and at least semi
aggressive cichlids are ok as well. But they need lots of room.

They can breed if they are happy in the tank no matter what other fish
there are, but most other fish and the tigers themselves will eat any eggs
anf fry and you won't be able to get offspring. Unless the tank is very
big, sparsely populated AND had LOTS of plants and other hiding places.

Tiger barbs and other egg layers which don't take care of their eggs/fry
are normally bred in a separate breeding tank where you place just the
breeding pair and remove them immediately after they have laid the eggs. In
this case it doesn't matter what other fish live with the parents.
