1) get a used magnum filter from somewhere. I got one for $45 from a local
guy ( a magnum 350)
2) go to the local landscape supply store and get your gravel there (wash
it really well). It will save lots of $$
3) buy your rocks at the landscape supply store, too. Here, they are 20 to
80 cents per pound.
4) don't buy any of those plastic caves, driftwood, rocks, gravel, or
anything else at the fish store. Waste
of money.
5) for driftwood, get it free at the river or the beach and boil the heck
out of it.
