Boy !!! How does one answer a question like that ? There are people who
make a lifetime career of "knowing" and studying art glass. If this is a
serious question, I suggest you explain a bit as to what you already
have collected...evenif it is just one piece...and then perhaps some of
the experts who are lurking here in rec.antiques can give you a hand.
Apart from buying a piece or two, get a couple of good books on the
subject, go to shows where it is displayed, talk to the dealers, go to
museums, look up Glass sites on the internet....have fun and enjoy the
journey....
From the title of your note, I would assume you are wanting to collect Fenton
Art Glass only? If that is the case, I recommend you picking up a few good
books that areon the market about Fenton. Go to http://www.amazon.com and
do a search on Fenton and it will bring up the 3 books on the market about
Fenton from different time periods. That is a great start. Hit some local
shows, and shops - especially if they are glass shows to help further your
understanding of glass.
