I have acquired 2 vanities, suspect they may be English in origin, mid 19th century to early 20th century by my guess. Wouldly greatly appreciate help identifying them, or direction to someone on the net who can identify them via photo.

Thank you kindly.

mid 19th century? No way!

early 20th? Seriously doubtful.

Mid-20th? Much more likely

Probably 1920s-30s, semi-inspired by Art Deco. That decorative
groove scroll is very typical of that era, as is the low-slung
modern" look. Interesting piece.

Probably 1940s-early 50s, "Hollywood modern". Typical chunky
no-style thing, with the give-away being the rounded edge on the
top (the presses and glues to mass-produce this were an outgrowth
of the airplane industry) and the V-shaped veneering visible on
the base of the mirror.

When businesses invoke the "protection of consumers," it's a lot like
politicians invoking morality and children - grab your wallet and/or
your kid and run for your life.

I've tried to sell several vanities over the past few years.  I'd guess yours date between the late 40s to early 60s (that's 1940-1960).  In the SF Bay Area I can tell you that unless you have the matching stools, you can't even give them away.  Those with oval mirrors sell better than the round mirror types and I couldn't get more than $45 for the best one I sold (oval mirror and matching bench)
