Hello,

I puchased a nice art glass vase at an estate sale recently which is
signed L. C. Tiffany. I know enough to realize that a signature is
easy to fake, but am not knowedgable enough on tiffany styles to be
sure this is a Tiffany. I intend to do further research but would
appreciate anything anyone can tell me on this. If it turns out to not
be Tiffany that is fine as I paid a reasonable price. It is in a deep
blue, almoast violet at times, with silver marbeling. The foot is
yellowish orance and the enture vase has an irridescence. Below are
links to three photos of the vase. Thanks in advance for your help.

You might try http://www.loetz.com they show many Tiffany/Loetz
impersonators. I know I have seen a vase very much like yours in the past
but couldn't recall who made it to save my life right now.

Nope not Tiffany. Not Loetz either. This is some new cheap stuff.

Doesn't look either cheap or new to me. If you're happy with the price and the
vase, you've got a bargain.

I don't care if it's Tiffany or Woolworth. It is gorgeous.

Ronnie,

Its a commonly seen contemporary piece. I think it is orient and Flume, a
California company that makes this, but it might also be Phoenix Studios. They
made similar things.

Ronnie,

100% correct. Phoenix actually signs their wares. Orient and Flume uses paper
labels and sometimes signatures.

They are easily buffed off if they are there and a new signature added on.

Tiffany signature can be found on Loetz vases, other Bohemian vases, Lundberg
Studios and Vandermark along with other small misc firms in the US.

So's Frank Gehry. I wouldn't mind living in one of his buildings at all.
