Chandler pastels

Is there anywhere to get information on the American artist (oops I
forgot his first name) but he did alot of pastels of scenery in United
States and Canada. In most books that I have looked it mentions his
name but no details?

I think the artist you are thinking of is Howard Chandler Christy who was a
noted illustrator artist. Scribner's and Leslie's Weekly used his drawing and
painting of the Spanish-American War. He specialized in beautiful girl
paictures for magazine and book illustrations. He was also a popular
portraitist, painting such famous people as Amelia Earhart, and Mrs. William
Randolph hearst. Later he painted murals. His most famous, The Signing of the
Constitution, hangs in the rotunda of the Capitol in Washington, DC. Now that
you have the correct name, you should be able to research and find out much
more.

I looked up the initials and the are C.W.. He came from New York to
Canada at some point in his career and did a lot of oil Pastels of
scenery. Other than that I don't know anything about him. Thanks for
your help any ways.
