Several years ago I bought a picture at an estate sale. I paid
$20 for it when I purchased it, so I'm not sure if it is worth
anything or not. I am at a loss to what it is, where or how to
research it, to find a value. If you want to take a look at
it, you can go to my website listed below, and then select
"Antique Reverse Glass Painting". I am interested in hearing
what you have to say! :)
Oh, one other thing I failed to mention...note how the path
heads toward you no matter which
side of the room I was standing on! If anyone has seen a
piece of art like this, or can tell me the approximate value I
would sure appreciate it. Not that it is for sale, because I
love the picture...it's just that I am very curious!! :) You
will see why I fell in love with the pictures when, if you
choose to do so you take a tour through my gardens that is
associated with some of my other webpage links.
Thanks,

Delicious Autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.

It looks very familiar; we have four much like it (1 oval
with bubble glass, 3 flat-glass rectangular/square).
My husband collected reverse glass paintings for a
few years (our guest room is interesting - Jesus is
hanging on a cross, there's a Mormon Temple, and
a dedicatory painting done for a dead WWI soldier).
Yours, like our similar ones, seems to be a kit-paint
product (kind of like a really hard paint-by-number
set). I know our "dead soldier" reverse painting
was done somehow that way. Many of our others
(like the US Capitol or that Mormon Temple) have
small trademarks on the glass.
I really think they are prettier when you have 1 or
2, than when you have about 12 of them. (They
are hard to store, and outside of the guest room,
they don't fit any of our current decor).
Value? Whatever you have to pay to get what
you want. We've paid between $5 and $275
for ours.

No, I'm not Mormon
My goodness, Kris, have you had some overly rowdy guests you wish to threaten
into submission? ;)
