I have a painting that I would appreciate any help in identifying. It
measures 12"x18" and is a nice landscape of a country scene with a river
running through it with two highly stylized doves (pigeons?) flying above.
It is painted on board made in New York City and I imagine was done here in
upstate New York. The painting is signed in the lower left corner with
three initials - E?D. The middle initial is somewhat hard to read - it
could be S,F or &. Below the signature is the date 1887.
I can e-mail a scan of both the entire painting and the signature if anyone
can help.
Thanks very much.
