Oil paintings on Bristol glass

Hello---
Several years ago I purchase 2 floral paintings, done in oils, on white
glass,
which was called "Bristol" glass. They measure approx. 10x18" each & are in
very ornate gold frames. Now for the question-----does anyone have any
infor-
mation at all about these, AND (showing my ignorance!) what is "Bristol glass?"
I'd also like some kind of price range or valuation as to what they may be
worth---they are lovely, but I'd like to change the colors in the room where I
have
them & yellow/orange is getting a little wearing on me. Should I attempt to
sell,
or just pass them on to my kids if they want them??

"Bristol glassware" was various types and styles of glassware made at
Bristol, in western England, which was the site in the 17th and 18th
centuries of many glassworks. Originally Bristol made window glass and
bottles, later its factories achieved fame for many varieties of
high-quality glass. It was outstanding for its 'opaque white' glass and the
so-called 'Bristol Blue Glass' and some green glass was made here but was
also made in many factories elsewhere, although often all such blue glass
is attributed to Bristol. Bristol factories also were well-regarded for
'cutting' and 'engraving' and for decorating glassware with gilt and
'enamelling.'
