Awhile ago I picked up an old Hammurlund SP500 boat anchor general
coverage receiver. Over all it works, but could use some TLC to make
it the radio it's supposed to be. Does anyone know of any trustworthy
person who does restoration to these sets? I prefer someone who is
based out of the Midwest or within driving distance of the Chicago
area. Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

GB

I've done my own but I understand that Chuck Rippel, who
mostly works on R-390As will take on SP-600s. At any rate
its worth contacting him and asking. If he doesn't want to
undertake it he may recommend someone who will. He seems to
have a very good reputation.

Thanks all for the information received so far. Art, I didn't know
that Ed H does old boat anchor receivers. This is good to know as I'm
looking for a local and from what I understand he does good work,
too. Thanks.
