OK, it's time to admit I'll never get around to fixing these. Free to anyone
willing to come and get 'em in Woodinville, which is near Seattle WA.

1.RCA Model 21T227 console TV. See web article at
http://antiqueradio.org/rca15.htm . After I recapped it and fixed the
horizontal problem, it relapsed into horizontal hell again. In the course of
investigating that, one of the flimsy picture pots (either brightness or
contrast -- forget which) broke in half. Nice bright CRT, probably an easy
fix for someone who knows what he's doing. Cabinet has been restored and
looks quite nice.

2. Philco AR-40 radio/phono console. Pics at
http://antiqueradio.org/art/philcar401.jpg and
http://antiqueradio.org/art/philcar402.jpg . This is a 1942 (?) model which
Philco created to use up existing inventory of car radios during the wartime
manufacturing hiatus. You can read a little more about the history by going
to the Google archive and searching for the subject "odd chassis in Philco
AR-40". It is an AA5 radio with simple turntable and a nice 12"
electrodynamic speaker. Cabinet is quite presentable -- looks considerably
better than these snapshots make out. In as-found condition other than
having been cleaned up a bit.

I no longer own a vehicle big enough to transport consoles, so delivery in
the area is not an option, sorry.

If you'd like to talk on the phone, shoot me some email (remove NOSPAM from
following address) and I'll send you my number.

Regards,

To those grimfaced diehards holding out for a better price, let me just
point out that these wonderful things are F-R-E-E !! Which means zero
percent (0.00%) interest, not to mention zero (0.00) down payment, on top of
zero (0.00) cash outlay, taxes, or insurance for the rest of your natural
life. Your gain is my loss compounded with interest -- and that's the way it
should be !!

Maybe I should have FS'd these R-A-R-E treasures for $4000 apiece with the
irresistible threat that they'd go on Ebay within 24 hours if not sold. Then
the seekers of R-A-R-E L@@@@K NOWWWWW !!!!! merchandise would have been
lining up with their U-hauls in my driveway.

I'm warning you guys . . . if nobody shows up to haul these babies away,
they may have to suffer another several winters in my poorly heated workshop
and I'll be danged if I'll repair anything that makes such a good perching
place for yet-to-be-fixed boatanchors. Don't say I didn't warn you :-)

Hmmm...R U fixing lightweight things (dinghy anchors<G>)? Hard to
imagine those BC-610's, SP-600's, AN/FRR-274's, GO-9's, HT-32B's,
SX-28's, etc. sitting on such a perch...

I have a collection of tiny baby BA's now. Guess what it is on top
of. :-)

Yeah, but you haven't seen this 21" TV cabinet. It is BIG, about 40 inches
high and 2 feet or more square in the other dimensions. My spare (waiting
for restoration) SX-28 is sitting on top with room to spare, cushioned with
two layers of cardboard. Someone please take it, before I have to take out
the innards and give the cabinet to the neighbor for a doghouse :-)

Aw Phil - that SX-28 probably is just going to fall off that rickety old TV
and break. You should send it to me for safe keeping until you have time to
work on it. You can put something else up top there to take up the space.
