The painting, oil on canvas, has been expertly restored and measures 30
1/4 by 25 1/8 inches. The painting is entitled "THE CAPTURE OF MAJOR
ANDRE". The capture of Major Andre was a very significant happening
during the American Revolution, following the defection of the traitor,
Benedict Arnold.
