This unusual WWII German Luftwaffe Tool Pouch measures roughly 8 ½” x 9”. I
have had some of the parts translated and have been told this pouch was for
electricians in the Air Force. The pouch is made of heavy all leather
construction. It has a front flap with two buckle straps. On the cover is a
heavily stamped LW Eagle/swastika with an “L” and “S”. There is a heavy
leather shoulder strap that has one buckle. On the underside of the front
flap is stamped 1934, an eagle stamp (different from the front – large wings
and WA13”. A name, “A. Dahl Barmen” is also stamped. Beneath this, is a
stamped list of contents (in German).
When the flap is raised, a smaller outer pocket is seen. Inside this pocket
is a 4” diameter can of electrical tape (German description on cover of can)
and a 4” x 2” heavy cardboard material string holder marked, “Gruschwitz
Leinenzwirn, 100 Meter, H”. Stamped on the backside of this holder mechanism
is the German eagle/swastika stamp.
Inside the pouch are 4 tools all Luftwaffe German Eagle stamped. The first
is a metal rule, 100 cm long. There is a maker’s mark of hammers in a circle
and the letters, “ELO”. Next to this is stamped into the rule the German
Luftwaffe Eagle/swastika. The second tool is a pair of heavy pliars (26 ¼”
long). It is stamped, “40H, E.&.L.” and stamped with the Luftwaffe
Eagle/swastika with L and S. The third tool is a wrench/screwdriver type
flat tool (6” long x 1 ½”). This is also stamped with the LW German eagle.
The last tool is a pair of wire cutters 6 ½” long x 2”) . This is stamped,
“H41” and German eagle on one side and the makers mark (E&L) on the other
side.
The entire set is in excellent condition. There is no rust to any of the
tools. There is no loose or broken stitching to the leather. All leather
parts are soft. No damage to the buckles and they are all in working order.
I believe this may not be totally complete. This is the only kit of its kind
that I have ever seen. I do not read German, but looking at the list under
the flap and counting the parts, it seems that there are less parts than the
list of items. If someone could provide any additional information, I would
greatly appreciate it.
