1886 Kampfe Brothers Star Safety Razor

An antique Kampfe Brothers Star Safety Razor with one blade and
blade holder.
The third section of the handle, used for honing and stropping the
blade is
missing, and the blade needs sharpening before any use. Invented by
the
Kampfe Brothers.

This beautiful Star has 1 original blade that appears unused.
Modern SE
blades will work in this razor. All I did was clean it with warm
soapy water.
I did not use any kind of polish on it. The material on the snap on
the
case has some vintage ware that can be seen in the pictures but it
still
snaps and keeps the box closed. The razor box is in very good
vintage
condition inside and out.

1875 -The Kampfe brothers introduce the Star Razor, the first safety
razor
made in the United States. Its revolutionary design wins national and
international awards for design and craftsmanship.

King Camp Gillette is best known, incorrectly, as the inventor of
the safety
razor. The first safety razor was in fact invented in 1880's by the
Kampfe
Brothers. This Star razors produced by the Kampfe Brothers around
1903.
As can be seen from markings on the razor itself and it's box, the
razor had
already won awards and patents long before Gillette.
