TRENCH ART FOR SALE

1) Large shell, approx. 13.5" x 3", with hammered inscription "FRANCE
1918-19" and large U.S. flag. $60.00

2) Large shell vase, approx. 13.5" x 3". Bottom half is fluted inward to
make vase shape. Top half has hammered design of large rose with
inscription "A.E.F. Argonne 1918." $60.00

3) Small shell with projectile head still attached, approx. 6.5" x 1.5",
inscribed "Marne 1918" with crossed US and French flags. $30.00

4) Ash tray, made of shell "exploded" outward to make six cigarette rests.
Welded to inside center are 4 bullet shells which form match holders.
Metal City of Verdun seal is welded to bullet shells. $40.00

5) Dinner bell, made of shell approx. 2.5" x 1.5" (bell part) to which a
smaller shell approx. 1.5" x .5" is welded (bell handle). Clapper is made
of heavy wire with a bullet on the end. Actually makes a nice tone!

6) German beer stein with hinged lid, made of shell approx. 5.5" by 3.5".
Lid is made from projectile timing device. Heavy brass handle is welded
to the side. SOLD

7) Unusual Scottish 85th Regiment ashtray and match holder. Has wooden
base approx. 8" x 4" to which aluminum plate marked "LZ 85" is attached
piece approx. 3.5" x 2" with single post which sits in a hole in the
wooden base. Match box holder is made of heavy brass with single post
which also sits in hole in base. Regimental cap badge is attached to
match box holder. Written on the bottom of the base is "LZ 85, Salonika,
5th May 1916". $90.00

8) Typical German match box holder, made from thin brass with German belt
plate attached. $10.00

9) Rare aviation trench art picture frame. Wooden frame approx. 8" x 4"
made from aircraft propeller tip. Frame is inscribed "France '19". Image
shows flyer in leather flying jacket with leather cap and goggles. Image
is flanked by two bullets cut in half lengthwise to make a decoration on
the frame. SOLD
