This is a vintage FB Rogers Silver Plated Serving Pot, F. B. Rogers
Silver Co. was a silversmithing company founded in Shelburne Falls,
Massachusetts in 1883, Defunct 2000s, Parent National Silver Company
this item is silver plated copper, there is a Hallmark on the bottom
of the item, it reads…"Trademark, (in between trade and mark there
is what looks like an iron cross.) Below that it reads FB Rogers
Silver company… 1883 Silver on copper… 2310.

It has a wonderful patina and with a very simple cleaning method…
Here it is… Boil water, empty a box of baking soda into a container,
place the item in the container, pour in the boiling water slowly
because as you pour in the boiling water the baking soda is going
to fizz. Continue this process two or three times and your silver
pot will look as if you spent hours polishing it, this method
absolutely works, I use it myself.

This item in my opinion is in very good condition… The only
points of interest on this beautiful vintage item is the top,
there is a slight bend to the front part of the lid (inside)
which can be fixed with ease. Also there appears to be a small
dent near the center of the lid on the inside, I can't see it on
the outside but obviously it's there. Other than the above
mentioned shortcomings I see no dents, scratches or dings on this
fine item. As always please be sure to look at the pictures
carefully as they are a true representation of the item. Buyers

It was acquired by Edmund W. Porter and L.B. West, who incorporated
the company and moved manufacturing operations to Taunton,
Massachusetts in 1886. For several years, the company became known as
West Silver Company, and was producing silver products for the William
Rogers Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut.

Massachusetts
About 1904, West and Porter retired and sold the company to William
Davison, Carleton A. Woodward and H.E. Nearing, who changed the
company's name back to F.B. Rogers.
In 1925 the company moved from 31 Winthrop Street to 59 Wales Street.
In 1943 it moved to West Water Street, to a site formerly occupied by
the Weir Stove Company, who produced Glenwood Ranges.
In 1955, it became a division of the National Silver Company.
The company used many different marks over the years. One of them is a
crown with the number 18 at the left and 83 at the right (for 1883).
In 2009 the 414 West Water Street property was demolished by Costello
Dismantling.
