SEVEN HAND PAINTED AND SIGNED "E. MILER" LIMOGES PLATES

They are 9 1/4" with a gold edge. Each plate's background is several
shades of pastel and
depicts either strawberries, grapes, blackberries, gooseberries
,snapdragons, peonies, or
daisies. The artist E. Miler painted and signed these plates .
The Fruits: (1)-The strawberry plate of course has the different sizes
of berries plus the
leaves and the strawberry flowers- even the rhizomes are
included.(2)-E.Miler's painting
has Yellow, purple, and red grapes growing together on the vines. They
are not the huge
bunches you buy at the supermarket but more the wild kind one
sees.(3)-The blackberries
plate captures the thorns, different colored leaves and the flowers all
fit together in
Miler's painting on the Limoges plate.(4)-Gooseberries -little pink and
flowing from the
bush are captured in Miler's painting.
The Flowers:(1)- Snapdragons in light shades of purple, pink, and white
look more like a
watercolor painting than a plates. The flowers flow from the top of the
plate down and
around. (2)- The Peonies are in white, pale yellow, red, and pink. They
are also shown as
bud, half opened, seen from the bottom and viewed from the top. (3)- The
Daisies are in
pink and white with a yellow center. It seems like they are in the tall
grass.
The plates are marked in GREEN initials with "LIMOGES, France". They have
Tressemann & Vogt Mark,7 (see Gaston's :The Collectors Encyclopedia of
Limoge, PP
197 ). CA 1892-1907(probably closer to 1900). Looking in the Limoges
book you will
not find any more beautiful than these.

Priced at $125 each. Scans available upon request.
