We wanted to give folks the opportunity to learn a little more about
the co-chairs (and Alison wanted the chance to show off her newly
developed Clean Energy Economy gateway, a new internet presence that
was built for the clean energy community to engage with for both
finding and disseminating knowledge about this emerging economic
infrastructure).

Who we are:

Ilan Caplan
Ilan joined Compass in February of 2009, overseeing project finance
activities as well as co-leading the Company’s development activities.
He has worked in the energy industry for over twelve years, and has
focused on wind finance and development activities for over eight of
them. Prior to Compass, he served in strategic roles at Clipper
Windpower, GE Wind and Enron Wind, resulting in over 850 MW of
operating wind power.

Alison Wise
Alison is a Senior Strategic Analyst at the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory (NREL) in Colorado, with focus areas in renewable markets
and private sector investments, public policy and market/corporate
policy. At the lab she leads analysis for the Market Data Resource
Center and is the coordinator for the Venture Capital Strategic
Advisory Board. Prior to joining NREL, she was a senior research
consultant with Clean Edge, Inc. She holds an M.B.A. from the
University of Oregon.

Trent Yang
Trent is the Director of Entrepreneurship and Business Development at
the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI). RASEI is a
joint research institute between NREL and University of Colorado at
Boulder (CU) on research, development and commercialization of next
generation renewable and sustainable energy focused technologies.
Prior to joining RASEI, Trent has spent over 10 years in the cleantech
industry from policy analyst to investor to strategy consultant to
starting new companies.

Dave Mayer
Dave has been passionate about sustainable business practices and
clean technologies for more than two decades. From an early age, Dave
saw that the "best practices" of major corporations were simply not
sustainable. Dave started small, in implementing corporate recycling
programs and organizing meetings of like minded individuals in Boulder
and Denver. In his nine years in the IT realm, He focused on helping
organizations enact sustainable solutions such as Green Data Centers
and technologies that encourage virtual interaction. Dave's current
role, when he isn't helping to coordinate REBN meeting logistics, is
to assist companies in developing custom, earth-friendly, web-based
and mobile software applications to support their great causes.
