Is anyone using the mod_pagespeed Apache module with Reason? If so, what has your experience been? How do you have it configured?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

We've been using mod_pagespeed since late March. We are using the standard configuration since I haven't had time to play with modifying it. Definitely a summer project to see what we can do!

With the way it's set up out of the box, it caches css files on the fly. That makes troubleshooting CSS a little tricky at times (using Firebug), but we've been able to work around it. It does seem to have significantly impacted our Google PageSpeed Insights score in a positive way. We're also running a script for lossless compression manually on the large images on our home page. We're doing that manually at the moment, but from what I understand we can set mod_pagespeed to do that for us too - as soon as we have time to play around with it!

Hope that's helpful. If I can give you any other information that would be helpful, just let me know.

Melissa
