I recently read an article at the Hypergrid Business site about 3D Enviroments For The Enterprise.  I expected to see RealXtend listed, or at least, some, or even one, of the companies who use Tundra to be mentioned. There wasn't. Other platforms and the companies using them were mentioned, but not RealXtend or Tundra.
Is Tundra being marketed worldwide ?

P.S. On another article at Hypergrid Business, there seems to be a web-based browser viewer in advanced stages of development that will allow OpenSim developers the ability to offer 3D printing. It might be worthwhile to check out how they solved some of the problems ?

Personally, I think that Tundra is going to need better documentation before getting more publicity. If the documentation is there; people will be more willing to try it. Until then, even if marketing Tundra did start, it wouldn't go very far because of a lack of documentation.

Oh yeah, while trying out Meshmoon realized another reason - I've tried repeatedly to get the Tundra, Naali and Rocket clients to work in the past, and have never been able to do it. Just downloaded a fresh install of Rocket 2.5, and still no go. (This is on a Windows 7 machine, but in the past have also tried it on other computers running XP.) I just get a big black window with only one word in the menu bar - "File" - and nothing under it.

I didn't mention any realXtend-based platforms because I didn't know of any except for CyberSlide, which isn't much of a virtual world. But I saw the Meshmoon webviewer announcement today -- writing a story about it now -- and will add Meshmoon to list of vendors.

Maria,

How do you start Meshmoon Rocket? From the desktop/star menu shortcut? Can you see how the console output looks like (hit F1)? Any errors there?

Hmm yes, if the top menu says File its probably not started with the proper config. Rocket actually removes the File menu and replaces it with "Session", so that tells already a lot. Additionally if all you see is black, I suspect you double clicked Tundra.exe from the install directory, this would load no UI plugins and you would be left looking at a black empty scene :)

We provide Meshmoon Rocket desktop shortcut and Windows start menu items under Meshmoon Rocket. Try starting with those shortcuts. If you still see the same problem, as Ali suggested hit F1 to see the console. Copy paste all its contents and send it to my email jo...@adminotech.com. If you are using Rocket shortcuts and you have a black screen it might be a directx context creation problem from Ogre. However this would not explain why the top menu items are inconsistent of what you should be seeing in Rocket.

Very strange indeed :)

Hi Maria, It's always great to see people test realXtend and Meshmoon.

The error you are experiencing is new to me, but we can try to get you
going. It seems Jonne already replied to you, he can help you get
going on the technical side (and we would appreciate it if you could
help us hunt this bug down), for any general Meshmoon related
questions you can also contact me directly and I'll get you in touch
with the relevant people. We'd love to tell you more about Meshmoon -
and realXtend - and perhaps show you how it works in-world once we get
this problem sorted.
