It isn't "psychogeography" that is at the root of Russian attacks on
Georgia.
It's humiliation. By Bush.

Bush humiliated Putin by threatening to put missiles in Poland
despite Russia's obvious objections.
And Bush humiliated Russia also by encouraging Georgia and the
Ukraine to join NATO.

So Putin re-asserts his masculinity, predictably, and invades Georgia.
