Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well in 2013 so far. So, we have been a bit quiet lately, and I know people have been involved in various different projects.

I wanted to bring up the threads that emerged at the end of 2012, and see who is around to take them up again.

Firstly, there is the ongoing attempt of trying to put some document together around the ethics of researching Occupy and social movements. I started this piretpad, but is still a bit bare: http://piratepad.net/XqLMuhCau8

My proposal on this, given that there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of energy, is simply to call an open meeting in which anyone who is interested comes together to write some kind of draft text. I would imagine this would only ever be a draft, and so we don't need to worry about making it too final, but it would make me feel better to have some kind of physical output, which could be send around other lists and discussed. If anyone is up for this could you email me direct, and then we can work out a date that is good for us, before advertising it in the wider lists.

Secondly, I wanted to pick up again on the proposal we had at the end of last year to organise another convergence, trying to bring together the various different militant research networks that exist. Clearly, this would need a bit of work and more thought. Having had a few chats with people, there has been suggestions that rather than have a convergence, a "skill share" could be more appealing, in which different groups could try and teach some of the stuff they have been doing. Of course at the same time it would act as a networking space. Anyway, to take this further we would need a meeting. What do people think about this?

Dear Sam,

Good ideas. Perhaps one would need to start with something small and doable, considering that everybody is so busy trying to survive.

Greetings Judith
