Subject: Re: [Occupy London] Special GA on the ethics of research, September 8/9?
Hi all,

So just chasing up this idea of doing a special GA on research and ethics that got a warm enthusiasm (in fact it got consensus!) at a ga a few weeks ago. Proposed date is September 8th. There would be an open planning meeting before as per usual, although perhaps not on same day. Main proposal at present is to start drafting some guidelines for those researching Occupy and other/relevant social movements.

Given that I have already brought this to a GA, and have had no negative feedback so far, can I presume we can just go ahead for this date? And if so, does anyone have a proposal for location? Steps of St Pauls being an obvious choice, but we could hold it somewhere more relevant, like on the grass in front of Birkbeck where we have done things before?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam

Long time no speak! Hope you had a good summer. Don't know if it's any use for this, or just for your future information, but just to make sure you know Katherine and I are taking bookings for the St Paul's TCU tent which is held on trust for Occupy related events and is free to use. NB you'd need to have a safe pitch and cover the transport.  Just send me an email if you'd like to make a request to use it or want more info.  In any event looking forward to running into you at something soon,

best
Max

I sent you some negative feedback! Though hopefully constructive criticism.
See above in this thread.

Cheers,

Peter

Dear Sam,

Sounds great. Unfortunately I will not be in London on that date, but
I would be interested to obtain some feedback on what will happen. Is
there an interactive blog on this cooperation somewhere? If yes, could
you please let me have the address. Thank you.

Wish you a fruitful day. Important research, especially in the current
political circumstances

Greetings  Judith

Hi Sam

Would be really interested in coming along to this - has a time been set?  I am currently conducting a piece of MA research into online youth activism and think the discussions could be really interesting.  I am running a workshop 1-3 in Islington, but could come if the meet up is earlier or later.

so,

has not been much response...and am feeling a bit last minute now.....my sense is this would be best pushed back till later in Autumn, unless anyone has an opinion?
