Last week of April  2012 I visited Sandos San Blas-Tenerife, here are a  few comments.

The room we stayed in was beautiful, ocean front 1BR, great views...welcome gift we had a bottle of champagne with fruit basket and every day they were giving us something extra,. strawberries dipped in  chocolate, or salmon platter.

They are not using any bracelets, not all drinks are included, some of them you need to pay for as much as 3.75 Euros - pricey!

Bar next to reception serves you drinks till 11 pm, after that you have to pay for everything

Items in mini bar in both rooms were free to us, RE members, but had some price list maybe regular guests need to pay for it? I don't know.

The resort is 10 minutes from the airport South, you can see and hear air crafts all day long, did not bother us though, it  was quiet in the evening and night.

It is a volcanic island, some places it looked like desert, nothing but hardened lava, no vegetation...but that is the beauty of it.

Ocean - very cold, 65 F, never went in,  so was the air. Most of the time with breeze coming from ocean  it felt rather cold.

Food - they had only one a la carte restaurant, we could make reservation only once ( even with having two rooms) second time we would have to pay 36 Euros, but left dinner before dessert a went to buffet, three of us had duck and it was not tasty at all.

The food in buffet was kinda repetitive, good selection of veggies, desserts, but main meal not so much.

Personnel - excellent!!! Everybody was very  kind, nice and ready to help! Starting with reception, waiters, house keeping - shortly EVERYONE was great!

Pools - they have two pools that are warmed, one with fresh and one with ocean water with many lounges around, never had a problem to get one, but the hotel was not very occupied during our stay.

Beach -in front of  hotel, you need to cross not that busy road, with lava rocks and a few lounges, not too many people were there, the water was really cold!

Entertainment - went twice only, was not great, not bad either.

 

Overall: we had a great time, the resort and people were excellent!!! ...would I want to keep going back, as we do to Playacar, probably not!

Than u so much for the info...I like white sandy beach so don't think it would b good for me : ( ...glad u had a good time : )  was there much to do off site?  That may interest me ...
