A couple of tidbits of info which spawned from an early morning discussion at the field...
They still make Ambroid...not sure if the formula is the same:
http://www.ambroid.com/Ambroid.html
Aerogloss (all I could find on the subject, but I don't think it is the original Aerogloss Dope from the early 70's):
"The factory that produced Aerogloss dope for Pactra/Midwest and color dope for Sig burned down a few years ago and is not being rebuilt; any of these brands on shelves is new-old-stock and not new production unless clear, Sanding Sealer, Fillercoat, or Nitrate.
The only company selling new stock color butyrate dope (outside full-scale aircraft industry dope such as Stits) is Brodak....don't know who produces it for them, but I suspect it may be Stits.
One must be very patient in applying dope over several thin coats....if you shoot it thick it will bubble and shrink for months.
Randolph Products Company formulates the dope products for Brodak. And I suspect Testors, or maybe some other RPM company, formulates the Aero Gloss dope products for Midwest Products Co. inc.. "
I enjoyed seeing everyone at the field today!
