Copy/paste from Word HQs.

"The Saluki is being rolled into the A. Homer Hilsen like. It makes sense, since functionally they are the same bike, and the only difference is wheel size." (sic)

This has been brewing as the incidents of "Hilsen badged Salukis" have attested.  So the Saluki, per se, seems to have had about a 2 1/2 year run. Running down the color schemes, the current one is butterscotch, and the early ones were sage green (?) were there any other "standard" colors?

The bike frame prices are up $100 on the RBW site this morning (except for Bleriot).

Yeah, the green was one of the first standard color choices, and there was a silver, too, similar to the silver offered on Herons way back when.

I have the very first butterscotch Saluki--custom colors were available for a modest up charge in the first run of frames. I wanted something similar to the harvest gold color offered on customs, maybe a bit richer, with a little more brown, and after a few email exchanges, Grant came up with that color for me. He like it so well he made it the standard color for subsequent runs--not entirely a new shade for Rivendell; it is very nearly the same color as one of my early WoolyWarm jerseys...

Tire size isn't enough to make it a different model? Wow.
It sure would be if it was my company.

But it ain't.

Good point, but there are two tire sizes for the Atlantis too, so
there is consistency there.

There was a standard pewter color as well.

Does that mean in the future, if you ride a 58cm or larger, you won't
be able to get a bike with 650b wheel size? or folks have a choice
between 700c and 650b for the borderline sizes?

Just went to the website and got the answers myself. It seems that
there will be some overlap 56 58 in 650b or 57 59 in 700c.

It's cool. I wonder if Grant will let people get a Saluki headbadge
for the new rolled-into-one AAH.

Does anyone else think that if you were choosing between the two
names, you'd go with Saluki over AHH?

I think the change over had been hinted at for a while. I only hope
the combination of the lines creates room for more bicycle models in
the future.

I have been curious about some of standard options on the Salukis.
Were the original head badges offered in both brass and pewter
colors? Did the "new" smaller painted head badges start with the end
of the cantilever brake models?

The original stock head badge was painted or enamelled -- enamelled, I
think. The optional "cop" badge was available at extra cost in both
brass and pewter.

I'm not sure there is a "new" badge, since the enamelled badge came
first.

Me, certainly.
