Sneak Preview: RR42 beta

Hello All,

Dave from Riv here. Rivendell Reader 42 is 99% done. Usually we post
things to the NEWS section and immediately get emails with typos. So
this time, we're unveiling it to the bunch first, hoping that you all
might catch some typos before it officially goes "live" on the site
and off to the printer.

So here it is. Please, please, please don't spread it around the net
just yet. Just print it out and enjoy it over the weekend. We'll post
the typo-corrected version on Monday. We don't want folks linking to
it just to have the link fail when we post corrections.

If you find a typo, please send me (da...@rivbike.com) an email with
all the info in the subject line, formatted thusly:
SUBJECT: Typos: pg. xx par. xx - correction

So your subject line should be something like, "Typos: pg. 03 par. 09
- Rivendale should be Rivendell
I won't be reading the email bodies or responding, so thank you in
advance.
Make sense?

There's no prize or incentive, just the satisfaction of being the
first to read it.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for this! I've been waiting what, 18 months for something bicycle to read. I like BQ, but the RR is still my favorite.

I like the images of the two new 650b tires.  I knew all about the pari moto but the soma new express is a very pleasant surprise.

To be handed this on a Friday! It's like a free book. I thumbed through it and can tell it's amazing. Something like this once a year is a huge gift, and I want to communicate my gratitude to Grant Petersen and Rivendell for making it. It goes way above and beyond the call of duty (whatever that is).

Funny. That Grant used to work at REI. I just met a guy from the SF
REI who says he used to work with Grant in the Berkeley REI,
conversation started on how he liked my Bleriot. Funny small the world
is.

This is great. Haven't found any problems yet, but I'll give it a good
going over this weekend.

Let's all make sure to buy a print copy when it comes out to support
the costs of RR!

The drink to which you are referring, dear friend, is not Kool-Aid. It
is Miruvor (a warm, fragrant cordial of the Elves).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Middle-earth_food_and_drink

So, yes, brink on the miruvor!

Will the print version of the latest Reader be available online? In a
recent post at rivbike.com, it seemed like there was a pre-order
period where it was available for $5... which I missed.
