A good friend of mine is parting out a bike and has a few things in
his bin for sale on the 'bay. I told him to refer the parts here
first, because the group may have a greater than average interest in
these items, but he was in a rush to post them.

He rode my Ram last summer; his first Riv ride. He said it handled
more like his Cinelli than his Mercian!

That crankset 48-44-24 is attractive for us HS+G fans, but that is a really wide range.  Anybody have experience with such a range, and what front mechs can shift it?

I used 44-48 HSG with I think a 28T granny for years. A SunTour Compe V
had no trouble with it at all. Admittedly, 28 is not 24.

I also used a Campagnolo Record triple with a Merz 31 chain ring, 31-49-
54 for many years, initially with a Record front derailleur, then a
SunTour SL. That worked fine, too.

I have a campy chorus triple on a Saluki which shifts a Campy 50 - 40 - 26 (24 total teeth) and a Sugino XD doing the same thing on a Rambouillet with a $himano 105 triple.
