Anybody else having problems with Skysight today? I open the program and I can zoom in and out, but as soon as I click on a menu item like Wind, the screen freezes and nothing happens.

Mark, have you tried turning your computer off and back on?  You have?  OK, this is beyond my level of expertise.  I am going to have to pass you up to a Level 2 Tech.

Dozen donuts if Matt can't come up with the solution in short order.  He knows the quirks of most operating systems and upgraded they have made to them.

We have over the last hour released a number of fixes to eek out a bit more life for "elderly" hardware and web browsers, and possibly broken graphics card drivers. We are starting to use the GPU of devices more aggressively in order to enable higher detail forecasts and faster loading speeds.
The web technologies we are using are supposedly supported and functional in 98.9% of devices in the wild, but perhaps not 98.9% of devices owned by glider pilots.

As always, please contact skys...@skysight.io if you have problems. You are paying for support, you might as well use it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried Skysight a few times today with the same problem appearing, I just tried it again. The screen propagates with the "Height of Thermals" as a default initial display. I changed it to "Thermal Strength" and it works properly.

However, once I try to select any other menu choice such as "Thermal Layer Wind," the screen freezes. No zoom can be accomplished, and no other menu item can be selected with positive result. In addition, scrolling is disabled, and the only thing that works is to close the program entirely. Restarting the program and duplicating my input gives the same result.

I am using a 2 year old HP Envy laptop running Windows 11, so it isn't like I am trying to flog a Windows 98 machine. I restarted my machine yesterday with no issues. I guess I will try that again and report back.

OK, I restarted my computer and tried Skysight again. It seems that most menu items are accessible and operational. However, ANY item in the "Wind" menu immediately freezes the screen, and possibly other computer functions. My Norton password application was open at the same time as Skysight, and I could not access the tab. I had to close Skysight to get back to operational. I will submit this to Skysight.

Considering that it is springtime in New Mexico (commonly called "Tumbleweed Racing Season") I wouldn't mind having a menu selection that can actually disable the wind. How about it, Matt?

I'm experiencing similar problems yesterday and today. Restarting seemed to fix it yesterday; today, refreshing a couple times today seemed to do it. I opened it in the SkySight app, and it's also running fine there. My computer is a 5 year old LG Gram 17, 512GB SSD memory, 16GB, still running Windows 10, but it's Windows 11 capable. Chrome is up to date.

Skysight seems to run properly on my iPhone 16.

Depending on the nature of Skysight's updates, a hard reload on the page could help.  In Firefox and several other browsers that's Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R .

But as Matthew said, the best bet is to contact Skysight support.  There's a support form at:
