I'm Son and I'm from National Nutrition Institute of Vietnam and I'm very interested with your Case studies in Malawi. Through the Final report, I'm really impressive with what Rapidsms can approach new method of Nutritional Surveillance. We are also want to approach the test project in 1 province in Vietnam. Unfortunately, I don't have enough detail information about the project except the Final report and others limitation is that Django is still new and strange with many people here. Therefore, I hope that I can get more documentations and guidance from Rapidsms Groups to help me develop this project. Thank you so much!

Hey Son, 

It is wonderful to know that RapidSMS appeals to your project. Success of these projects usually depends on a government's willingness to adopt ICTs to fight or solve problems such as malaria tracking of bed nets, mulnutrition tracking and so much more.

One step to follow is to set up a committee in charge of managing such a project; for example, a manager to track its progress. A couple of developers that know django (or rapidSMS). And an organization that is willing to partner or provide support (e.g. UNICEF in Vietnam, perhaps).

There is some good documentation about rapidSMS being scoped up and django is pretty easy to learn once the software developers get on board.  If such a team is setup then you can easily tell them to read this:

Training of members for such a committee is crucial including developers; I suggest setting up one and then following this advice when there are fires to put down.
